Yoga Practice and Seminars
You are invited to join a small and dedicated group of students who meet every Monday or Tuesday for guided practice.
Each month has a focus– the breathing technique, spinal action, postures and meditation all work together to create an effect. Over the course of the month, these threads develop to help progress with each class. At the end of each month, add-on your class seminar to share, listen, and learn more about the techniques and principles of yoga explored that month. Can’t meet live? No problem. Every class is recorded.

Yoga for Vitality and Strength PRACTICE
Dive deep into āsana (postural) practice linking movement of the spine with breath technique. We dedicate time to seated prāṇāyāma (breath) practice and meditation each week.
In YVS, the metrics for success are different from typical fitness classes. You’ll develop strength with slow but challenging movements. You’ll teach the spine and body to have overall flexibility and then use the capacity of the spine to power and inform how you move in each posture. With this approach, the breath and heart rate can remain stable even when you exert energy. A great deal of focus develops when you remain attentive to these experiences in your practice. Expect to develop bṛhmana qualities of stable attention, a lightness of body, and a sense of calm energy through this practice.
This class is for you if you have at least 6 months experience with viniyoga practice (home practice or group classes), you are active, and it is safe to move your spine and joints in many directions (or you know how to modify). We practice standing, lying and seated postures.
Class meets Mondays 60min 8:45 PT/ 10:45 CT/ 11:45am EST
Yoga for Vitality and Strength SEMINAR
In this monthly discussion class, you’ll learn to put together awe-inspiring Yoga classes rooted in the deep wisdom of Indian anatomies. Feel how prāṇa moves in you, and then discuss how to apply that in the practices you teach. Discover the ancient Indian teachings and ideas that inform how you breathe, move and where to put your attention. Access the deeper teachings of yoga in your personal or teaching practice.
This class is for you if you are enrolled in the YVS practice class, and are a yoga teacher or dedicated student of yoga interested in understanding the ins-and-outs of yoga postures, sequencing principles and the development of the skills of yoga over time.
Class meets the last Monday of every month - 75min 10:00 PST/ 12:00 CT/ 1:00 EST
Gentle Yoga PRACTICE
Each week, you’ll spend time developing breath technique and spinal flexibility and strength. Learn how to incorporate these skills with standing, lying and seated (chair or floor) postures. A meditation or reflection practice follows a theme throughout the month. In Gentle yoga, each technique develops step-by-step, great for beginners and students who appreciate a mindful approach to practice. You’ll be encouraged to rest when you need to, adapt anything that isn’t comfortable, and challenge yourself when appropriate.
This class is for you if you have sensitive areas in the body that may need more care or modifications and you enjoy a slow and steady pace. Expect to do some postures standing, lying on the floor and seated. Sitting can be in a chair or on the floor.
Class meets live Tuesdays - 60min 8:45 PT/ 10:45 CT/ 11:45am EST
Gentle Yoga SEMINAR

You've experienced the class! Now join the monthly discussion to share insights with your class community and further explore the ideas, tools and impact of your practice. Topics are guided by students’ questions and interests. Conversations might include designing nourishing and affirming Yoga classes for yourself or others, the effects of practice and the underlying Indian models of subtle anatomy, prāṇa and how it works, or ways that yoga is having effects in your life beyond the mat.
This class is for you if you are enrolled in the Gentle Yoga practice class, and interested in understanding the ins-and-outs of yoga postures, sequencing principles and the development of the skills of yoga over time.
Viniyoga has a range of practices, but all share certain principles
Healthy spine is important for overall health – this central column should be flexible, strong and aligned so that joints are supported and prāṇa can move. We give a lot of attention to our spine in order to regain and maintain our capacity and energy.
Breath is intimately linked to our vital life force, prāṇa. When we cultivate long, smooth breathing, our whole system benefits. Yoga practice influences our energy, our clarity of mind and the steadiness of emotions.
Attention Scattered and distractible vs. focused and intentional has an impact on experiences, relationships, decisions and health. Yoga takes us toward focus.
Stillness is related to stability in body, breath, mind and emotions. In our classes, we slow down and find space for increased presence.
